And I most certainly do not mean me, as that is almost never my case.
I am referring to the shop attendant as well as Tom when I told him afterwards
.I sure can say the darndest things, and be the absolute ditsiest on this planet, if I do say so myself!
I was on the hunt for banana chips for my next baking excursion and headed to Julien Graves as Waitrose was sold out. Tom waited for me just outside with groceries as I popped inside.
Upon paying for my chips, I noticed a magazine on the counter. The name along the top in the title looked familiar to me.
"Julien Graves" it read.
As I stood there, the feeling of familiarity grew stronger, overwhelming me, "I know this name" I said to the shop attendant.
"Would you know if Julien Graves is an author?" I asked the lady who was attending to me. Now I was trying to figure out why the name was so so familiar and I was going over facts in my brain and kept thinking this was the name of the woman who had recently written a baking cook book which I now live by, and is originally a novelist who took up baking to fight depression.
( I now am aware that the name I was confusing was actually Marian Meyers
well it DOES rhyme: )
At this point I can not even recall what exactly I was saying out load as I was half in and out of thought trying desperately to get a grip on my thoughts.
She just stood looking at me somewhat confused. She then began to tell me that Julien Graves used to own these stores
.
Just then it was like a light went on in my head and my eyes lit up.
I did not mean to interrupt her but did so as I smiled and stated " Oh yes, this is Julien Graves"!
I was standing in Julien Graves looking a wee bit peculiar as I seemingly had no clue as to where I really was.
She was left speechless, as was Tom, though only briefly when I told him. He found it quite amusing, and somewhat unbelievable.
He KNOWS I'm special. Good thing I'm kinda cute, eh!
